Branding, Logo, Web design
This bachelor's thesis explores a case study focusing on the visual identity, strategies, and website of the archaeological site of Kerameikos.
Kerameikos, also referred to by its Latinized name Ceramicus, is a historically significant area in Athens, situated northwest of the Acropolis. This site spans a considerable area within and beyond the ancient city walls, encompassing both sides of the Dipylon Gate and the banks of the Eridanos River. Known as the potters' quarter of ancient Athens, Kerameikos refers to the term "ceramic." Beyond its association with pottery, the site holds immense cultural and historical importance as a prominent cemetery adorned with numerous funerary sculptures lined the sacred road leading out of the city to Eleusis.
The following site analyzes Kerameikos, emphasizing elements that shape its overall visual and conceptual identity as a museum brand. Through this lens, the thesis delves into how these unique characteristics form the design and communication strategies that bring Kerameikos to life for a modern audience.
